After he wadded the candy wrappers into a tight ball and placed them into a receptacle on the seatback before him, he recited, "In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread till you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; you are dust, and to dust you shall return."
"How true," responded the woman, almost wistfully. "Time is short."
"And getting shorter all the time."
She winced secretly. "My name is Janice. What's your name?"
