The Oracle of Delphi
A Convincing Lie
Chapter 1 Page 25
An elderly woman sitting across the aisle from the boy turned a curious, amused eye on his mumbling lips, and appraised him generously for the perfect child that he was. The boy rotated his liquid blue orbs to seek her out, and held her with his flat stare.
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."
The woman's eyes bunched, as she wondered if he had addressed her, personally. The boy held her at the center of his liquid irises, and whispered, "The earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep."
Now she cocked her head curiously, and shifted in her seat. As she leaned closer, he hissed, "The Spirit of God was moving over the face of the waters."
"Excuse me, young man?" she asked musically, her voice pitched high as only a grandmother's may be.
