AM DECIEVED

he promised return
in the springtime
then winked and turned quickly away
I should play well
in the meantime
and be a good boy every day
so gently I played
and I waited
near the window to be certain I heard
the sound of his wheels
on the gravel
the quietest of his beckoning words
for he'd promised return
in the springtime
while winter ruled I believed
only to see green
climbing my brick walls
only to at last learn I am decieved
