BURNING

Come a penetrating stare
from I know not where
to search me out
in the night.
Soon followed the gleam
of flaming gasoline
to illuminate
the darkling, dead night.
And shone a brilliant blind eye
that I might quicker die,
hot bullets seeking
my heart.
Come a penetrating stare
from I know not where
to end my pyromaniac
form of art.
