Marcus shrugged and gulped his wine. "Out. Away. Far away, into the Alps, perhaps, where few people travel. I will wait out the winter there, and see what develops come springtime."
"What of your interest in this train, then?"
Exasperated, the older trader growled, "Boy, you are not hearing me! This is the start of something big. BIG, I say. Those furs you dragged all the way from high Asiatic steppes will be worthless by Christ's Mass. Sell them now, take what you can get, and flee for your life!"
"What of my creditors?"
