The two men glared and relented unhappily. The first motioned Recensio savagely forward, and appeared as though he would be much happier if he had been called upon to slash the merchant's throat.
Recensio pushed through the flap, returning his shirttail to the tuck of his belt. Once through to the other side, he found Marcus sitting at a wooden folding chair before an ironbound wooden trunk, which opened to form a clever sort of desk. The train master was busy with quill and parchment. Recensio wondered briefly what he was writing there, and was reminded of Silvio's will tucked into his belt.
"You are well, Recensio?"
"Yes. And you?"
"Thus far so well. What business have you with me, sir? My time is short, as I intend to embark tonight."
