Kendrick's Monster
His Apical Sin
Chapter 1 Page 15
"I don't want to understand!" shouted Kendrick suddenly, his body jerking spasmodically with the words. "And I don't want to get caught!"
His monster stewed with the silence, and bubbled with the second hand of the clock on his wall. In a swirling drain, it circled the room, slowly at first, then faster, faster, faster. Soon it was a cyclone of darkness that spun about his bed and washed his walls blackly.
'Yes,' insisted the monster, 'You do.'
"NO!" raged Kendrick, clutching his head within his arms, "I don't! And I don't want to do it again! Never again!"
These words brought the beast to a sudden halt. With a flurry of silent contrast, it settled into a wad in one corner of his ceiling. There, it stared down at him, its eyes crimson and unfathomable, its face pinched into bizarre and unobvious highlights.
