And a King to Sit His Throne
Chapter 12 Page 17
Half Pint was shocked, and his mouth dropped. "You- You know my father's name?"
"Aye. He was a good man, of good reputation. Why should I not know of him?" Epsilon smiled ruefully to see his little mate's pleased expression. "Surely he did not name you Half Pint. It is too derogatory a title to have from a loving father."
"So I have often thought, but it is not a self-given moniker. My real name is Ipani. Or so my mother called me."
"Ipani Emmal's Son," spoke Epsilon, reaching for the quill once more. He signed over the remainder of the palatial properties, and presented these endorsed rights of ownership to the halfling. "Here is your stronghold, King Ipani. I have taken the liberty of granting young Vernin, here, the rights to a large barn and liveryman's quarters on the same grounds. You shall have to build another stables, but you gain an onsite armory. Now, I suppose, you should meet your armorer, who even now sits at your side. Vernin Lassiter's Son, meet King Ipani of Oreset, Son of Emmal the Great!"
The two stunned men turned to nod at one another and shake hands. Epsilon took the opportunity to heft the bag of titles onto the table.
